About Robson Kay

Robson Kay was established in 1996 by father and son team David and Jonathan Kay. If you would like to know more about Robson, please scroll down to Meet The Team. Initially trading from a site in Old Trafford, the company identified and bought a site on the Roundthorn Industrial Estate near Manchester Airport in 2001 where they have remained ever since.

The complex includes a large secure carpark, a second secure yard for storing vehicles and trailers, a 25,000 square foot main warehouse and a two-storey office block. Collectively this forms one of the largest independent corporate recovery agent auction complexes in the country.

Robson Kay primarily works for insolvency practitioners and asset backed lenders providing valuation, consultancy and asset realisation services. Most assets are sold by auction, however we sometimes sell by private treaty and we are often instructed to sell complete businesses. Because we specialise in why the assets are being sold rather than specific asset classes, we sell an incredibly varied range of assets relating to every conceivable industry.

Robson Kay are members of NAVA Propertymark, the National Association of Valuers and Auctioneers. Robson Kay’s principals are both members of R3, the trade association for the UK’s insolvency and restructuring professionals. If you are interested in employing our services please click on the Vendor section for further information or contact us directly to ask for more information.

Meet The Team

Robson

The business was named after the Kay family’s much beloved pet dog, who unfortunately passed away in 1997 not long after the business was first established.

Whilst the family initially thought this would be a fun way to give the business a memorable name, it has also proven a great talking point, particularly when we receive calls asking to speak to Mr Robson and even more so when callers state they have already spoken to Mr Robson.

The Admin Team

Robson Kay employ a team of very experienced administrative staff whose duties include liaising with clients, preparing reports, auction administration and cashiering.

The Porters

Robson Kay employ a team of full-time portering staff who are based at our Manchester auction complex, however their duties include regularly visiting sites throughout the UK to uplift assets. Duties also include auction preparation, supervising inspections, data wiping, auction administration and much more.
